Windows is still most popular operating system for clients in over the world. Windows is installed on more than 80% of all desktop and laptops. So our users are addicted to Windows. I have real experience about our customers with other operating systems. Actually, most people is born in a home with Windows desktops or Windows laptops. They have grown up with Microsoft Outlook and other Windows application, so they can’t work with other operating systems.
VMware’s engineers published another free tool on VMware Labs. The new fling (VMware Workspace ONE Provisioning Tool) helps you to test and validate applications. Let’s review VMware Workspace ONE Provisioning Tool.

VMware vSAN Hybrid TCO and Sizing Calculator Virtual SAN or vSAN is a software-defined storage (Hyper Converged) for VMware vSphere environments. Main goal of sing vSAN in VMware vSphere environments, is reducing implementing cost. So calculating TCO and device sizing will help to achieve better results. As vSAN technology owner, VMware has provided an online tool for calculating TCO and sizing for vSAN. The online tool is very useful for IT administrator to find cost of vSAN implementation with different scenarios. The online tool has four different sections: Sizing Inputs: You should fill the sizing inputs form with some information about your environment. Sizing Results: The online tool will calculate results according to the sizing inputs and show the result on this section. TCO Input: You should enter required information for Total Cost of Ownership. TCO Results: According to the information, the tool will calculate and shows the result for TCO calculation. Sizing Inputs This section is using for enter virtualization environment specifications. You must specify the some important information for the online tool to calculating vSAN TCO and sizing. The online tool can calculate requirements according to virtualization platform, there is two platforms for calculations: Server Virtualization Desktop Virtualization The online...
The Universal Desktop Converter 3 (UDC3) thin client software provides a highly effective alternative to traditional thin client hardware. The software is installed as the operating system on PCs, notebooks and selected thin clients, and turns the hardware into a powerful softwarebased and universally deployable thin client allowing secure access to almost all centralized IT infrastructures. Users have stable and reliable access to cloud computing services, server-based computing (SBC) applications and virtualized desktops (VDI). The local desktop operating systems are unified and standardized, and are centrally managed by IGEL’s user-friendly Universal Management Suite (UMS), the industry’s leading device management platform. The UDC3 software is available at low cost, the UMS is included for free.

This century has begun with a big jump in portable devices and gadgets technology. Few years ago, we had to carry our big laptop for attending to our meetings or … . Today, we have smart phones and we can do anything on them. But those are not powerful like laptops or desktops and they have small screen and they have many limitation yet. Today, we keeping our data (Important data) on cloud storage services and our portable devices become smaller. Today, we are using virtualization technology for reduce our costs and we are implementing our virtual data centers around the world. Today, we are using virtual desktops instead of physical desktops and we have some protocols for connecting to them remotely and have experiences same as physical desktops even from a web browser. This is a gift from virtualization leaders to us. But virtual desktops are still expensive and needs to modern hardware. There is another solution and you can have your web desktop. A web desktop or webtop is a desktop environment embedded in a web browser or similar client application. A webtop integrates web applications, web services, client–server applications, application servers, and applications on the local client into...
Another tools (Fling) has been released by VMware engineers and it’s useful same as other tools. Horizon True SSO has been introduced in VMware Horizon 7: Overview of True SSO True SSO provides a way to authenticate to Microsoft Windows, retaining all of the users’ normal domain privileges, without requiring them to provide AD credentials! True SSO is a VMware Horizon technology that integrates VMware Identity Manager 2.6 with Horizon 7. VMware Identity Manager Standard is included in VMware Horizon 7 Advanced and Enterprise Editions. With True SSO, a user can log into Identity Manager using any non-AD method (for example, RSA SecurID credentials) and once authenticated, the user is able to launch any entitled desktop or app (hosted from any domain) without ever being prompted for a password again! True SSO uses SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) to send the User Principal Name (for example, [email protected]) to the identity provider’s authentication system to access AD credentials. Horizon 7 then generates a unique, short-lived certificate for the Windows login process. Benefits of True SSO True SSO Separates authentication (validating a user’s identity) from access (such as to a specific Windows desktop or application). Provides enhanced security. User credentials are secured...
I knew, VMware introduced Soft3D with View 5.0, vSGA with View 5.2 and vDGA with View 5.3 and the technologies are perfect in View 6.x. NVIDIA introduced GRID technology and we can use the graphic accelerator for ESXi and deliver 3D graphic to users via VMware Horizon View. I have read the VMware’s blog post before and there is new blog post from VMware with same title! VMware & NVIDIA Bring Blazing GPU Acceleration Performance to VDI VMware and NVIDIA are virtualizing the GPU to bring VDI to power users, with workstation-like performance for GPU acceleration of Direct3D, OpenGL, and NVIDIA CUDA applications. Find campaign details and the sales enablement tools you will need on the Partner Demand Center. There is a question? VMware and NVIDIA are developing new technology for virtualizing GPU or they are working on the current technology to add new features or improve current features? I want to know the answer of this question and I will keep this post update and share any information about that with you. Please share me your information as well.
I couldn’t read new blog posts about VMware Horizon 7 till now because I was busying by some personal projects but I could read some blog posts about that today. I suggest that read the below bog post from “Vladan Seget”, he wrote the post about Horizon 7 new features and improvements: http://www.vladan.fr/vmware-horizon-7-details-announced/
You may know, we have two types of VM, Full-Clone and Linked-Clone. Now, you have two questions, what are Full-Clone and Linked-Clone? Full-Clone: The Full Clone — A full clone is an independent copy of a virtual machine that shares nothing with the parent virtual machine after the cloning operation. Ongoing operation of a full clone is entirely separate from the parent virtual machine. Linked-Clone: The Linked Clone — A linked clone is a copy of a virtual machine that shares virtual disks with the parent virtual machine in an ongoing manner. This conserves disk space, and allows multiple virtual machines to use the same software installation. You can find more information on “VMware Documentation Center”. VMware offers VMware Horizon View Composer for creating and delivering linked-clone machines to your user but is it possible without View Composer? Answer is yes. You can create linked-clone VM without using VMware Horizon View on VMware ESXi or VMware Workstation. You can create a linked-clone VM on VMware Workstation easily by its GUI, you should follow the below steps: Step 1: Create new virtual machine, install OS, install VMware Tools and other applications. Step 2: Power off VM and create a snapshot from...
